Frank Bourgault

Frank Bourgault is an associate at Merovitz Potechin LLP practicing in real estate with an emphasis on real property acquisition, disposition, financing and land development. Frank acts for a broad range of clients including developers, builders, lenders, and investment companies. He has experience with all types of condominium projects, including standard, common elements, vacant land and leasehold condominiums. In his spare time, Frank is an avid fitness and sports enthusiast. He enjoys playing football, tennis, and rugby, and is a passionate supporter of the Green Bay Packers.

Douglas Buchmayer Planning Committee Member

Douglas Buchmayer is a partner in the Ottawa office of Gowling WLG, whose practice concentrates primarily in the areas of estate planning, estate litigation and estate administration. Douglas has chaired and spoken at various continuing legal education seminars over the years and has appeared on radio and television to discuss estate planning issues. A past Bar Admission Course instructor at the Law Society of Upper Canada for the Estate Practice section and current Solicitor Examination Tutor, Douglas has also lectured in the area of estate administration at the University of Ottawa for law clerks and lectured at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, in trust law. Douglas is the general counsel for the Nunavut Trust, a past president of the Ottawa Estate Planning Council, and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (S.T.E.P.). Douglas is a member of the East Region Solicitors Conference Planning Committee.

Emily Tierney

Upon her Call to the Bar in 2014, Emily Tierney joined the firm as an Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group. Emily’s solicitor’s practice has a primary focus on providing business law services to both new and seasoned business owners, ensuring her clients meet all the requirements of operating in today’s modern business world. Emily provides legal guidance to clients with regards to incorporations, shareholders agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. Emily enjoys working with all levels of business owners, especially assisting in determining the best structure for new business owners and entrepreneurs.

Kyle Van Schie

Kyle joined Soloway Wright as a litigation lawyer in 2015 after previously completing his articles with the firm. Kyle is a member of the Employment, Labour & Public Law, and Commercial Litigation practice groups.Kyle has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Divisional Court, the Superior Court of Justice and the Small Claims Court, as well as in the Federal Court. Kyle has also represented clients before several administrative tribunals in the fields of labour, employment and human rights law, including the Human Rights Tribunal, the Social Security Tribunal and the Labour Relations Board. Away from the office, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. He is also a sports enthusiast who follows the sports world closely and you can often find him on the ice or at the ball diamond coaching youth sports.
