Kaitlin Brennan explores how the oppression remedy addresses unfair treatment in closely held or family-run businesses, especially when formal agreements are lacking. She reviews key legal tests, legislative frameworks, and recent appellate cases where courts inferred reasonable expectations from conduct and relationships. The presentation highlights how flexible remedies, including share buyouts, help resolve disputes where minority stakeholders are disadvantaged.
