Suzy recently completed her first year at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. During the year, she competed in the Nelligan Moot Court Competition, winning the Best Factum Award, and served as an Assistant Editor for the Ottawa Law Review. Suzy was recently elected as the Co-President of the Ottawa Legal Innovation Hub, where she previously served as the Vice-President of Equity. Before law school, Suzy obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University, majoring in Political Science with a Certificate in Law, where she graduated with distinction. During her undergraduate career, Suzy volunteered as a United Nations Online Volunteer, gained valuable experience in the public sector as a Business Support Intern with the City of Kingston, and served as the Co-President of Queen’s Chapter of Hanvoice, a national organization focused on improving human rights in North Korea. Suzy has a keen interest in litigation, corporate law, and technology law. Suzy will be joining Aird & Berlis LLP’s Toronto office as a 1L summer student.
Nase recently completed her first year at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. In Fall 2024, she competed in the Nelligan Moot Competition, winning the CCLA Best Factum Award. She served as a Senior Editor for the Canadian Law Review and as a 1L Representative for the Common Law Student Society (AÉCLSS). Nase was recently elected Vice-President Advocacy of AÉCLSS, where she remains dedicated to representing and advocating for her peers. Before law school, she earned an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction from the University of Toronto, specializing in Psychology and majoring in Criminology and Sociolegal Studies. As an undergraduate, she received the University of Toronto Leadership Award for her leadership as President of the Psychology Students’ Association and the UNICEF UofT Student Chapter. Nase has a keen interest in litigation, family law, and employment law. This summer, she will join Pro Bono Students Canada's Family Justice Centre as a student worker.
Anand Srivastava, J.D., B.Sc. (Hons.), is a lawyer at Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP. Anand’s practice focuses on environmental legal advice and environmental litigation. With prior education and experience in environmental toxicology, Anand assists clients to facilitate practical solutions to complex environmental legal issues. Anand works with a wide variety of clients on issues relating to environmental regulatory compliance with federal, provincial and municipal laws, contaminated sites, environmental due diligence, and exposure to environmental risks and liabilities. Anand’s objective is always to help clients understand and avoid corporate and personal environmental liabilities including civil claims, regulatory orders, and regulatory prosecutions. Anand regularly appears before the Courts and administrative tribunals. Anand prosecutes and defends environmental civil lawsuits. Similarly, Anand also defends clients against environmental regulatory prosecutions and/or appeals of regulatory orders to the Environmental Review Tribunal. Anand is called to the Bar in Ontario.
Paul Taylor is a partner in the Ottawa office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Paul's practice focuses on trust, estate, and incapacity planning and administration as well as corporate law. Paul has a wide range of trust, estate, and incapacity experience, including planning for individuals with high value and complex assets, working with clients to provide for beneficiaries with disabilities, and preparing, amending, and interpreting trusts for aboriginal groups. Paul's corporate law experience includes the implementation of corporate structures as part of tax and other planning. Paul received his LLB, University of Manitoba (Robson Hall) in 2007 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008 and Nunavut in 2017. Paul is very active in the community and is Board President at Ottawa Salus. He's a former board member of Bruce House, Ryan's Well Foundation, and Fund for a New Generation.
