Alison Latimer is a partner at Arvay Finlay LLP and maintains a general litigation practice with a focus on areas of public law. Ms. Latimer acted as co-counsel to the intervener, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in Groia v. Law Society of Upper Canada, 2018 SCC 27. She has also acted as counsel on a number of significant constitutional cases. She was co-counsel for the plaintiffs in the challenge to the criminal laws that absolutely prohibited physician assisted dying and co-counsel for the plaintiffs in the more recent challenge to the laws that authorize solitary confinement in Canada.
