A Primer on the Law of Arbitration
Includes Handouts
Arbitration is on the rise in Ontario. About 70% of all decided cases have taken place in the last 5 years. When engaged, however, lawyers often walk into the arbitration process without understanding the  basics and the critical differences from traditional litigation. Typically an arbitration takes 7-9 months to complete, while a court case takes an average of 40 months.

This nutshell offers you a unique opportunity to be introduced to the law of arbitration. The authors of Annotated Ontario Arbitration Act, 1991 will share their knowledge and insight from having collected, reviewed and annotated all of the case law decided under the Ontario Arbitration Act, 1991 and its equivalent in other provinces.

The result: you will avoid a walk into the black abyss next time you are asked to conductan arbitration!
