"Work-Life Balance for the Modern Canadian Lawyer” is a presentation that speaks directly to the realities of burnout, overcommitment, and the constant pull between billable hours and personal life. Jacob Murad, a practicing lawyer, managing partner, and father of four, shares a lawyer’s perspective on how to build healthier boundaries without compromising professional success. He walks through practical, achievable changes—blocking off personal time like you would court, tracking where your time actually goes, using the 80/20 rule to focus on what matters, and delegating non-legal work where possible. The message is clear: being more selective, more intentional, and more protective of your time leads to better outcomes, both professionally and personally. The focus is on mindset, habits, and the power of taking control of your own schedule.
