Carla Forth QC

Carla L. Forth, Q.C. was called to the BC Bar in 1985. She has worked continuously for the past 30 years at Guild Yule LLP, first as an articling student, then associate and partner. She has been one of the managing partners at Guild Yule LLP for a number of years. Ms. Forth obtained her LLM from Osgoode Law School in 2012, specializing in Health Law.

Ms. Forth practices in the professional malpractice field, defending Health Authorities, School Districts, and professionals such as chiropractors, optometrists, and lawyers.

In 2013, Ms. Forth was recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in Canada in the fields of health law, insurance law, legal malpractice law, and personal injury. In 2014, she was named "Lawyer of the Year" for Health Care Law. She was recognized for her legal skills and contributions to the legal profession by being awarded a Queen's Counsel designation in 2012.

Ms. Forth is also a frequent lecturer and has written many articles and papers, including "Ethical Issues in the Conduct of Litigation", "Mastering Evidentiary Issues", "Anatomy of Medical Expert", "Keeping Clients Happy" and "Review of Conflict of Interest in the BC Code". She lectures directly to Health Care professionals on various issues. She is a Member of the Medical Legal Society, and a member of several CBABC Sections, including Insurance, Health Law, Construction, Municipal Law and Civil Litigation.

She has just been awarded the 2015 WLF Debra Van Ginkel, Q.C. Mentoring Award in recognition of her passion to mentoring others in this profession.
