Dr Owen Williamson

Dr Owen Williamson is an orthopaedic surgeon and specialist pain medicine physician. He completed his medical degree in 1980 at the University of Melbourne, Australia and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 1990, a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2007 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (Orthopedic Surgery) in 2013. Prior to coming to Canada in 2011, he specialised in spine and trauma surgery.

Dr Williamson is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, Australia and has published over 50 papers on spine surgery, trauma and pain medicine. He is involved in the development and accreditation of pain education programs in Australia and Canada.

Dr Williamson practises as a pain physician at the interdisciplinary Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre Pain Clinic in Surrey, BC and the Okanagan Interventional Pain Clinic in Kelowna, BC.

Dr Williamson has had extensive experience in medicolegal assessment and following appointment by the Governor-in-Council of Victoria, Australia as a Practitioner eligible for appointment to Medical Panels in 2007, provided judgements in over 150 Workers Compensation and personal injury cases.
