Gary Barnes

Gary graduated with LL.B from University of Ottawa Law School in 1975 and was called to the Bar in 1977. For 35 years Gary has practised in the area of Criminal Law, and for the last 33 years he has devoted his practice exclusively to criminal cases. Gary has made the focus of his volunteer work the youth of our community, and has volunteered over the years with many organizations including Boy Scouts of Canada, Gloucester Parks Board, Youth Services Bureau, Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario, DCAO and the Blue Sea Lake Protective Association. Gary also devoted a great deal of his volunteer work to coaching young people in soccer, softball, and hockey. For many years he has been a mentor for younger practitioners, and taught at Carleton University and the Law Society Bar Admission Course. Gary has been heavily involved with Legal Aid throughout his career.

Justice Nadell received his LL.B from the University of Ottawa in 1966, was called to the Bar in 1968, and has been an Ontario Court Judge since 1977. This will be his last year serving on the Bench as he turns 75, and will be retiring.
