Jessica Fullerton

Jessica Fullerton graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2007 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2008. Jessica articled with and continues as an associate at Nelligan O’Brien Payne. She practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, insurance defence and medical malpractice. Jessica has been a member of the Civil Litigation Conference organizing committee since 2012.

Associate Chief Justice Frank Marrocco

The Honourable Justice Frank N. Marrocco was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice in 2005, following a distinguished law career spanning 33 years. Justice Marrocco received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto in 1970 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1972. He practiced criminal and civil litigation law and later developed a subspecialty in immigration law. A former Queen’s Counsel, he was a partner at Gowling Lafleur Henderson prior to his judicial appointment. Justice Marrocco is an accomplished legal author and has also served as Vice-Chair of the University of Toronto Academic Disciplinary Tribunal and is a Judicial Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was elected as a Law Society bencher in 1995, and chaired several committees. He also served as Chair of the Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company (LAWPRO) from 2002 to 2003. Recognized for his leadership skills, he was elected as Treasurer of the Law Society in 2003.

Jeff Saikaley

Jeff is proud to serve as a Co-Chair of the “Trembello” Planning Committee. Jeff received his LL.B. at the University of Ottawa (programme de common law français) in 2001 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. In January, 2012, Jeff co-founded the bilingual litigation boutique CazaSaikaley s.r.l./LLP. Jeff practices general civil litigation in both official languages, with an emphasis on commercial litigation, defamation and employment law. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys spending time with his two young boys Maxwell and Felix, playing poker and ball hockey.

David Scott

Mr. Scott was called to the Ontario Bar in 1962 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1976. In 2011, he was invested as an Officer in the Order of Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College, University of Montreal, and studied law at the University of Ottawa. Mr. Scott was a Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada from 1991 to 1999. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1984 and served as the first Canadian President of the College in 2003-2004. In 1988, he occupied the Milvain Chair in Advocacy at the University of Calgary Law School and in 2009, the Silas Hylak Chair in Advocacy at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law. In 1999, Mr. Scott was awarded the Advocates' Society Medal and received honorary degrees from the University of Ottawa and the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2001. In 2005, Mr. Scott was awarded the OBA Award for Excellence in Civil Litigation. He currently sits on the Boards of Operation Come Home and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and has served on the Boards of the United Way, the John Howard Society, the Ottawa General Hospital and the Canadian Stroke Network. He was the Chair of Pro Bono Law Ontario from 2008-2010. In 2010, Mr. Scott received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Pro Bono from Lexpert and in 2012, he was awarded the Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Leadership. Mr. Scott is a member of the Board for Pro Bono Canada and in 2014 was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Convention Centre. He is also a member of the Honorary Council of the Canadian Centre for International Justice. In 2014, he was named Alumnus of the Year by the University of Ottawa for leading the fundraising efforts to build the Ian G. Scott Courtroom, which opened at the Faculty of Law in October 2013.
