Reuben Rosenblatt

Reuben is the Chair and a senior member of the Real Estate Group. His practice focuses on complex real estate issues. While continuing to maintain his practice of law, Reuben has become a desired arbitrator and mediator of commercial disputes including real estate, leases, condominium, and insurance issues. He has been designated with an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell for legal expertise and professional reputation, is a "Repeatedly Recommended" lawyer in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, and has been listed in the Best Lawyers in Canada since 2006. Reuben is a frequent lecturer on real estate-related issues at professional institutes, legal associations, and universities. He has been an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School since 1977 teaching the Real Estate Transactions Course. As a recipient of many awards and accolades, in 2018, Reuben was honoured with a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LLD) from the Law Society of Ontario. He was awarded the 2007 Law Society Medal by the Law Society of Upper Canada, which recognizes outstanding Ontario lawyers whose service reflects the highest ideals of the profession. He was the first recipient of the Ontario Bar Association Award of Excellence in Real Estate in January 1996. Reuben has also received the Gold Key Award for Excellence in Teaching. Along with being one of the pre-eminent real estate lawyers in Canada, Reuben has also written two children’s books and regularly does readings at schools in southern Ontario. Known for his sense of humour, Reuben is the only lawyer in Ontario to have been "Roasted Alive" by his colleagues at the OBA event held on February 13, 2007.

Tannis Waugh

Tannis was called to the bar in 2003 and practices in the areas of real estate, corporate/commercial, and estate planning. In 2018, she was certified as a specialist in real estate by the Law Society of Ontario.

As a former Trustee for the Toronto Lawyers Association, Tannis has been involved in advocacy and education initiatives, most notably the moderator and presenter of continuing education programmes and writer of articles for the TLA journal. She currently sits on the education committee which is responsible for producing CPD programmes for Toronto lawyers.

She is also a member of the Condominium Sub-documents Committee of the Working Group on Lawyers and Real Estate which is responsible for producing province-wide precedent materials for condominium transactions.

Tannis is a frequent presenter for continuing legal education programmes and, in the past, has spoken on the issue of real estate, estates and ethics for the Canadian Bar Association,/Ontario Bar Association, Law Society of Upper Canada, The Commons Institute and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
