The Hon Madam Justice Kathleen Ker

THE HON. MADAM JUSTICE KATHLEEN KER is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Law School. She was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1988 and in British Columbia in 1989. For the first 10 years of practise Justice Ker was a criminal defence lawyer specializing in appellate practice. In September 1997 she joined the office of Crown Counsel and was appellate counsel for the Attorney General of British Columbia until her appointment to the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She is the former chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Criminal Law Section.  Madam Justice Ker was appointed to the Supreme Court of British Columbia at New Westminster on June 18, 2008.  She is the current Chair of the British Columbia Supreme Court’s Criminal Law Committee.

The Hon Judge Jennifer Oulton

THE HON JUDGE JENNIFER OULTON was appointed to the BC Provincial Court in 2012, and she currently sits in Surrey.  Before her appointment, she worked as a B.C. Crown Counsel from 1998, and she had the opportunity to appear at all three levels of court in the province. A 1994 law graduate of McGill University, Judge Oulton also worked in Ottawa for three years, and briefly in a civil litigation boutique firm in 1997-98, when she first moved to Vancouver.

The Hon Mr Justice Terence Schultes

THE HON MR JUSTICE TERENCE SCHULTES attended UVic Law School and was then called to the Bar in 1987. He spent his entire career as a lawyer as a Crown counsel with the Criminal Justice Branch. He was Deputy Regional Crown Counsel (Fraser Region) from 1997-2003, Regional Crown Counsel for the Fraser Region from 2003-05, and Regional Crown Counsel for the Vancouver Region from 2005-9. He was appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 2006 and to the BC Supreme Court in 2009. He originally sat in New Westminster and then was transferred to Vancouver in 2013. His wife practices estate litigation in Surrey, and they are the busy parents of two teenage boys and the servants of a demanding miniature schnauzer.
