He practiced Litigation in the City of Sudbury from 1986 to 2001, including Criminal, Civil and Family Litigation. His practice included six years as an agent for the Federal Government, prosecuting cases under the Control Drugs and Substances Act, conducting trials in both English and French. Justice Maranger is the Past-President of the Sudbury District Law Association from 1995 to 1996. Justice Maranger was appointed to the Superior Court of Justice on October 31, 2001.
The Honourable Julianne Alys Parfett, is appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Justice in and for the Province of Ontario. She replaces Mr. Justice G.R. Morin (Ottawa) who has elected to become a supernumerary judge. Madam Justice Parfett received a Master of Laws in 2001 from the University of Ottawa, a Bachelor of Laws in 1983 and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) in 1980, from Queen’s University and was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1985. She has practised criminal law in both official languages as a Crown Attorney first in Windsor County (1987-1989) and then in the Ottawa-Carleton Region (1989-2007). Madam Justice Parfett has acted as the Attorney General’s Representative at the Ontario Review Board and as Course Director, Ontario Crown Attorneys Association Summer School. She has been involved in the Ottawa community acting as President of the Board of Directors of the Emily Murphy Non-Profit Housing Association.
